New Jersey State Police release bodycam video showing bear cub rescue in Union Twp.

UNION TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- New Jersey State Police released bodycam video of a bear cub rescue along I-78 in Union Township.

Police responded to a call on Wednesday about a lone bear cub in a roadside ditch.

A trooper checked to make sure the cub's mother was not in sight before digging through the shrubbery to capture the cub.

The cub was released to the Department of Environmental Protection, where it's safe and receiving the attention it needs.
